Question:
What is the difference between the words of these prayers:
- 'O Messenger of Allah I ask you such and such.
- O God, I ask You by virtue of the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him such and such.
- I ask you, O God, my love for the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him such and such.
Mufti: Yousef Abdul Hai
Answer:
Praise be to God alone, and peace and blessings be upon the Prophet after him, and to his family and companions, and then:
As for the word I: (O Messenger of Allah I ask you such and such), it is not permissible to speak of it because it is pure prayer, and pray not only be to God, who said (Call on Me will respond to you), and Aaredy Prophet peace be upon him to call him farewell; because it is the same Abdul Allah and His Messenger, calling for the unification of the Almighty and to worship alone.
The second version: (O Allah I ask You by virtue of the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him such and such), it is a matter of pleading status of the Prophet peace be upon him, a bone of contention among scholars.
The departure of the first row replaced by verbally III: O God, I ask you my love for the messenger peace be upon him such and such; because that begged for a place of work is a consensus among Muslims, and Allah knows best.
